How do I place an order for a transcript of a Tax Court proceeding?
Download the Petitioner Order Form here or send an email to [email protected] to request an Order Form. Once you have completed the Order Form, submit the form to [email protected].
Can I place an order for the transcript over the phone?
No. In order to receive a transcript you must fill out the Order Form and submit it to [email protected].
What information do I need to fill out the Order Form?
In order to correctly fill out the Order Form (and avoid delays in receipt of your transcript), you will need to include, at a minimum:
- Contact Information including address, phone, and email.
- The Date and Location (city, state) of the proceeding.
- The Case Name.
- The Docket Number(s).
- The Proceeding Type (e.g., calendar call, recall, hearing trial, etc…). Please note, you may have more than one proceeding type. If you would like to order multiple transcripts, you will need to complete a line item for each transcript you would like to order.
- The Turnaround time. Standard delivery is 30 calendar days. See below for questions regarding pricing.
- Payment Information. If you are the petitioner, you must enter credit card information and your card will be charged in full before the transcript will be released to you.
What is the turnaround time? How quickly can I get my transcript?
Standard delivery is 30 calendar days. There is the potential option to ‘expedite’ the transcript for either a 14 or 7 calendar day turnaround, however, expedites are not guaranteed. If you would like to request an expedite, please indicate the desired Turnaround on the Order Form and someone from our Tax Court department will confirm pricing and availability with you.
What are the rates?
The cost of the transcript will vary depending on three factors: (a) the type of session (Regular vs. Small), (b) the turnaround time requested, and (c) the total number of pages of the transcript.
For both a Regular Tax Case or a Small Tax Case please call us for rates on standard delivery or a price quote.
Support Included?Are you able to provide me with copies of the exhibits?
Unfortunately not. We do not receive copies of exhibits and are therefore unable to distribute them.
How much will my transcript cost? Is it possible to get an estimate?
It depends. If the transcript has already been written, we can provide you with a specific cost. If the transcript has not already been written, we can provide you with a very rough estimate so long as you are able to provide us with the duration of the proceeding. Please note, this will be an estimate only and the actual cost will vary! If you do not have the approximate duration, unfortunately we will be unable to provide an estimated cost.
Is payment due before or after I receive the transcript?
Payment information must be provided at the time the order is placed, and the bill must be paid in full before we are able to release the transcript to you.
Can I purchase the audio for the proceedings in lieu of the transcript?
We are unable to provide the audio to you but you may contact the United States Tax Court to inquire about availability of audio proceedings.
What do I do if I want to make a change to a transcript?
All requests for changes must be placed with the United States Tax Court. Only changes approved by the United States Tax Court will be made.
